Governor Fayose Bans Houses Without Toilets, Prosecutes Landlords

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, declared that landlords and tenants of houses without toilet facilities would face the consequences, he also gave them two months to solve this problem in the state.
Speaking at the monthly radio and television programme tagged “Meet Your Governor” in Ado-Ekiti, Fayose said that defaulting landlords now have up till the end of February 2015 to provide toilets in their buildings.

According to him, after the said date, erring landlords would be arrested and prosecuted. Moreover, the same penalty awaits tenants who knowingly or unknowingly rent houses that have no toilet facilities.
Fayose also bemoaned the poor environmental situation in the state, attributing it largely to the poor attitude of residents towards clean and hygienic living.
However, he disclosed that everything would be done in the New Year as his government had mapped out strategies aimed at providing water and other social amenities under the 2015 budget.
Fayose called on residents of the state to follow the line of basic principles of hygiene and discipline. He also asked them to increase the tempo of their support and cooperation with his government so as to be able to deliver all the election promises he made.
At the same programme, Fayose has also pleaded with civil servants in the state to be more patient with him concerning their September salary.
