Kate Middleton & Prince William Welcome A Baby Girl!

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby girl. The princess was born at 8.34am this morning weighing 8lbs 3oz, with the Duke of Cambridge present for the birth. The Princess is the first Princess born into the Royal family for 25 years, the last being Princess Eugenie in 1990.

Kensington Palace announced the birth shortly after 11am this morning. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. The newborn is fourth in line to the British throne after her grandfather – Prince Charles, father – Prince William, and brother – Prince George. The reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, ascended to the throne in 1952. The baby is the queen’s fifth great-grandchild.

Her Royal Highness and the Princess, who will be styled Her Royal Highness Princess x of Cambridge,  are both doing well. Big congrats to them!
