Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny is having a medical with Arsenal, according to the former assistant coach of the Egypt national side.

Several reports in England have claimed that the 23-year-old has already agreed personal terms on a four-and-a-half-year contract and will finalise his £5 million move after completing a medical and receiving a work permit.

And now, Dia El Sayed, who worked with Elneny for Egypt’s Under-20s and the senior side, claims on Twitter that the midfielder is having a medical with the Gunners. DChidoo has also spoken to El Sayed to confirm the validity of his Twitter account and the veracity of his claims.
